Bulk black leather dye and restorer for shops, detailers, and big jobs

Leather Black by Doc Bailey's in the 32 oz pump is the bulk size of the flagship formula. It cleans, conditions, re-dyes, and waterproofs black leather, vinyl, rubber, and canvas in one application. One 32 oz bottle holds as much as eight 4 oz bottles, at a lower cost per ounce, and the pump makes dispensing fast and clean.

It is the exact same formula as the 4 oz Leather Black, the pro's secret since 1991.

Who is the 32 oz size for?

Detailers, upholstery and restoration shops, saddle makers, motorcycle dealerships, and commercial accounts. Think limo and livery seats, restaurant booths, theater seating, fleets of black vinyl and trim, and busy home garages. If you treat black leather, vinyl, or trim regularly or in quantity, this size saves you the most.

What does it do in one application?

Four jobs, in this order, in the same wipe:

  1. Cleans. Detergents open the pores and lift out road grime, dirt, and mold.
  2. Conditions. Lanolin oil flows into the open pores, keeping the leather supple and stopping the drying and cracking that kills it.
  3. Re-dyes. Real black dye restores faded leather to a deep factory black. It is colorfast and locked in by the wax, so it won't bleed or come off on you.
  4. Waterproofs. A blend of waxes seals the dye and oils in and beads water off.

A separate cleaner dries leather out further, and a separate conditioner is often sticky or goes rancid. Those products aren't built to work together. Leather Black does all four in one bottle, dry to the touch, with no residue.

It protects the stitching

Stitching is where leather fails first. Leather Black keeps the leather around the stitching conditioned and soft so it doesn't shrink and pull on its own thread, and it leaves a protective wax on the thread so the elements can't break it down. That stops stitch-rot before it starts.

Trusted by manufacturers by the caseload

Leather jacket manufacturers and importers buy the 32 oz pumps in bulk and treat every jacket before it ships to their stores. One wipe takes off the mold that forms on the long, humid sea voyage, cleans the leather, restores the black, and leaves that fresh new leather scent.

How to use it: the One-Hour Rule

  1. Pump a dime-sized amount onto a sponge and scrub it into the leather to clean it.
  2. Glaze a little more over the top. It is dry to the touch in about thirty seconds. That's touch-dry, not cure-dry.
  3. Let it sit untouched for a full hour while the wax locks the dye and lanolin in.
  4. After the hour, lightly buff with a clean rag to pick up any excess and seal the waxes.

No alcohol, no silicone, no solvents, no petroleum distillates.

What's included

One 32 oz bottle of Leather Black with a pump dispenser, plus 8 application sponges. Highly concentrated, so a little covers a lot of surface.

Frequently asked questions

How much will a 32 oz bottle of Leather Black treat?

It holds as much as eight 4 oz bottles. One 4 oz bottle does 100 pairs of boots, a leather jacket 30 to 40 times, a set of saddlebags 25 to 30 times, or a complete auto interior 2 to 3 times.

Is it the same formula as the 4 oz Leather Black?

Yes, exactly the same formula. It is just in a larger pump bottle for value and convenience on bigger jobs.

What surfaces can I use it on?

Black leather, vinyl, rubber, and canvas. It was developed for black leather, and it does an amazing job on black vinyl, rubber, and canvas too, from seats and dashboards to automotive trim, running boards, and convertible tops.

Will the black dye rub off on clothes or customers?

No. The dye is colorfast and locked in by the wax. After the One-Hour Rule and a light buff, it won't bleed or come off on you.

Does Leather Black remove mold from leather?

Yes. It cleans mold and mildew off the surface. It conditions with lanolin, which never goes rancid, so it doesn't leave behind a food source for mold the way animal fats do. That is why leather jacket makers use the 32 oz to treat inventory that picked up mold in shipping.
