Multi-Color Re-Dye & Repair Kit by Doc Bailey's repairs tears, burns, scuffs, cracks, small holes, and scratches in leather or vinyl, and restores color to faded or worn areas. It comes with 7 primary color top coat dyes and a mixing chart to match your leather's exact color. Black, brown, tan, burgundy, white, and everything you can blend in between.

Two kinds of damage, one kit

Color damage. Faded spots, worn edges, scuffs, and light pet scratches leave the leather intact but take the color off. Match the color with the mixing chart and cover the area with thin coats of top coat dye.

Surface damage. Tears, burns, cracks, gouges, and small holes break the surface. Fill them with the air-dry repair compound, press the grain in, then blend the color.

How the repair works

1. Mix enough matching dye to tint the repair compound and still have extra matched dye left over to blend the repair afterward.
2. Tint the air-dry repair compound with the matched dye. Pre-tinting makes the repair easier to blend and conceal.
3. For a hole or a tear, place the included backing material behind it first. Then apply the repair compound.
4. Place the grain paper over the repair and set a few pounds of weight on top to press in a good grain impression while it cures. Cure time is 12 to 24 hours.
5. Once it is fully cured, slowly remove the grain paper.
6. Inspect the repair. It may need a second fill. Repeat until you are happy with it.
7. Blend the repair in with some of the extra matched dye.
